Today (February 7), the "Joining Hands with Humanity, Connecting to Beauty" Red Cross-themed promotional event was held at the Suzhou Municipal People's Government. ViVest Medical Technology Co., Ltd. Chairman Zheng Jie donated a total of 20 AED (automated external defibrillators) worth 570,000 yuan to the Suzhou Red Cross, pledging to provide lifelong maintenance services. These AEDs will be gradually deployed in enterprises, schools, communities, government units, and other places, and will be taught specific usage methods and first aid skills by experienced Red Cross ambulance training instructors.

ViVest Medical Technology is a local innovative medical technology company specializing in the prevention and treatment of ventricular arrhythmias and heart rhythm data services. The donated equipment AED is an emergency rescue device that can automatically identify abnormal heart rates and provide defibrillation shocks, known as the "life-saving tool" for rescuing sudden cardiac arrest patients. "The AEDs donated this time weigh only 1.5 kilograms and are about the size of an iPad, making them compact and portable, which helps speed up the rescue," Zheng Jie said. The equipment donated this time is the high-end version of fixed AEDs in public places, with a service life of up to 10 years. In line with the global trend of low-energy defibrillation technology, the device uses 150J defibrillation technology, which can greatly reduce damage to the body and myocardial cells during defibrillation. According to information from the Red Cross, this AED also has animated and voice prompts, so even ordinary people who have not received professional training can quickly and accurately perform defibrillation in emergency situations.

Sudden cardiac arrest is a serious threat to public health, and to reduce the mortality rate of sudden cardiac arrest, AEDs are essential. Currently, China's per capita AED deployment is less than 0.5 units. According to statistics, Suzhou has a total of 360 AEDs distributed in densely populated places such as stations, schools, and scenic spots. Zheng Jie said that only by increasing the density of AED spatial distribution and improving the popularity of first aid skills throughout society can the difficulties in treating cardiac arrest be resolved to some extent.


However, optimizing the layout of products is only the first step; the ultimate goal of ViVest Medical is to make citizens dare to use and know how to use AEDs. "Next, we will cooperate with the Red Cross to conduct training on AED devices and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) skills," Zheng Jie said. After the equipment is delivered to the users, Weiwesi will also help users with product installation and training. Public welfare training activities will be arranged every year in the future to invite people from all walks of life to participate. "We strive to train more people with first aid skills in Suzhou, create an atmosphere of everyone learning first aid and first aid for everyone, and increase the out-of-hospital cardiac arrest treatment rate in Suzhou," Zheng Jie said.
